Bike Aid is a bike workshop, which is open for refugees in order to supply them with workshop-infrastructure and bikes. We have the joy to work out of the Lanternes Rouges wagon here in Kanal, where we have tools and regular volunteers to help assist people with whatever they may want to accomplish, wether it’s just basic maintenance or building a new bike from recycled materials. Workshops take place regularly throughout the warmer months and are structured as DIY horizontal spaces where no one is an expert as we are all learning together.
Bike Aid wants to provide refugees from Berlin and Brandenburg to get their own bike. The idea behind it is to supply the refugees in their precarious situation with a little widening of the mobility.

Bike Aid Berlin est un projet de réparation de vélos qui soutient les réfugié-e-s de Berlin et du Brandenburg.
Pour cela, nous utilisons l’atelier vélos de Lanternes Rouges situé sur le campement autogéré « Wagenplatz Kanal » ; c’est ici qu’ont lieu régulièrement les ateliers de réparation.
Bike Aid Berlin a pour objectif d’aider les réfugié-e-s de Berlin et du Brandenburg à acquérir leur propre vélo. L’idée sur laquelle se fonde le projet est de soutenir les réfugié-e-s qui se trouvent en situation précaire, en leur rendant possible ou du moins en leur facilitant une certaine mobilité.
